Facebook site

It’s a long time coming but I finally set up a facebook site for Zen Design.

This is an easy way for me to interact with people. Answer questions quickly as well as making it easier for people to view new designs and see what is going on.

Hopefully this will also give an insight to the design behind the designs as well as help me get to know the clients which will hopefully be a big help in providing the best solutions to designs.

There is a link at the side of this site. Please click like to show your support or click to view the site.

Zen Graphic Design – Cafe Press Store

Hi everyone, hope all is well.

This year I have been lucky enough to become a volinteer designer for the IS Foundation and created some designs for their Cafe Press store (click here to see).

It inspired me to create some of my own designs and start my own Cafe Press store. The store will feature various products from T-Shirts, mugs, bags and more. I am working on uploading designs over the next few days.

For now check out the Eco inspired range Gone Green? and the Wild Girl range for all those rock chicks or rebels out there.

To view the store please click on the link. http://www.cafepress.com/zengraphicdesign

What would you like to see?

Hi everyone,

How is everyone? Just a wee blog to ask you all a question.

I’m thinking of doing some designs and opening a cafe press store. What kind of designs would you like to see on products such as T-shirts, bags, zippers, mugs, bottles and lots more?

I’m just trying to get an idea of what is popular and what people would buy?

If you can send me an email or comment that would be a big help.

Thanks

Kirsty

Old and New

I’ve just uploaded some new images to flickr.

A few of them are from my college years when I was first building my portfolio and also doing a bit of gig organisation and promotion in my spare time.

I have learned a lot since then, especially after working at a printers. Learning how to set up artwork for print has been a great help and I feel that the knowledge that I have gained from this will be a huge benefit when thinking about how to tackle future designs that will be sent to print.

It has also taught me a lot about how well things will print, which formats work, what paper prints better, how colours will look when printed as well as learning about different print techniques such as Spot UV.  To have that chance to work on the side of the printer as well as the design has been a huge eye opener.

Looking at my past designs from college I can see how they have influenced me but also how much I have changed since then. Now when I look at them I can see ways that I would improve them but they also bring me back to the creativeness that I had in my mind when I first started.

Maybe I’ll look back in another few years and see all the things that I have learnt.

For now I have uploaded a few of my older designs which I like and hope that you will like to.
