I wanted to do a blog to let you know about a charity event that I’m helping out with. As some of you know a few years ago I did a lot of gig organising and promotion as Domestic Crisis Promotions. We organised gigs in and around Glasgow with some great up and coming bands. This included a charity gig in aid of the Neurological ward in Yorkhill. We had around 3 bands, an arm wrestling competition (won by Big John) and leg waxing (by the brave Martin McKenna). There was even an auction of a hand painted scene from the Shining which fetched £102. All in all we raised £1000 and had a great night.

We then did a second gig for Cash for Kids which raised nearly £600 and was also a great night. Domestic Crisis then went on hiatus dew to work commitments but we decided to raise again in order to help some of the nurses at Yorkhill Hospital raise money for a charity called Kidney Kids. These kids have been through so much and are so brave. They take part in the transplant games every year. However they need to fundraise in order to raise enough money for coaches etc.

Soooo!!!! We are putting on a Charity Rock gig on the 3rd of August in the one and only IVORY BLACKS. We already have the amazing Lil Charlie and the Easy Riders on board and need at least another two or three bands to fit the bill. I know it’s been a while since I blogged last. A lot has been happening this month and we have been busy getting lots of jewellery designs ready for our stall at Sloan’s Market. It was our first time and we didn’t know what to expect but we had a great two days and managed to make a few sales. We loved it so much that we are planning on going back within the next week or so. I will keep you posted and let you all know when you can come down to say hi. We had a joint stall with the lovely Ashleigh McGunnigle who has created some lovely custom jewellery.

We also had a request for a really cool custom design. An adaptation of one of our skull and bead creations. Taking the customer ideas we combined white skulls with silver/black drawbench beads, black beads, dice and a silver and black cross charm. This is a perfect example of what we can do in terms of making peoples ideas and making them happen. This design was entirely based on the customers ideas and requests. If you would like a custom design put together please feel free to send me an email. We also have some exciting graphic design projects coming up in the near future. I will hopefully be able to tell you all about it soon. Graphic Design is still out primary focus so please get in contact if you would like any information on what we can do for you. The photos of the girl in the hat are from when I was at the Metropolitan College in Glasgow when I was just starting out. I had a lot of fun taking these photo’s and learning my way about the camera so the photo’s bring back a lot of good memories. I thought I would share them with you. As I have mentioned before, this year I became a volunteer graphic designer for the Ian Somerhalder Foundation. This has been so inspiring and has really gave me the means to stand up for something that I believe in as well as talk to and get to know some amazing people who are trully the back bone of ISF. Today is the foundations first birthday. I can’t believe it’s been a year already!!! The foundation has accomplished so much. This year I have been lucky enough to become a volinteer designer for the IS Foundation and created some designs for their Cafe Press store (click here to see).

It inspired me to create some of my own designs and start my own Cafe Press store. The store will feature various products from T-Shirts, mugs, bags and more. I am working on uploading designs over the next few days.
